I really enjoy being able to lead people in discovering the potential they have inside.
Most people are unaware of their own inner resources.   So many feel helpless to change the things they don't like about their lives.  It is liberating to know that each one of us holds the key to creating the changes we want to see. I would love to show you, too, how you can reach your dreams.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of heightened awareness and focused concentration.  Some call it trance; some call it an altered state of consciousness.  It is actually like daydreaming, where your attention is turned inward, allowing you to be more open to new ideas.

What Hypnosis is NOT

Hypnosis does not allow someone else to have control over your mind.

No one can make you do anything you don't want to do.

You cannot get lost somewhere (in your mind, or anywhere else) during hypnosis.

You will not be unaware of what you're saying or doing.  You will not forget, either, unless you choose to.

What Does Hypnosis Feel like?

During a hypnosis session, you will become extremely relaxed.  Your awareness of your surroundings can vary by person and situation.  Some people feel fully aware and conscious, some feel as though they hear from a distance, or that they hear but have no attachments to what is being said,  and some people feel as if they have gone to sleep.  How you would react is totally unique to you and cannot be predicted ahead of time.

Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind to create desired results.  Your subconscious is the part of you that protects you.  It is also the part that stores all of your memories, beliefs, and perceptions.  It believes whatever you tell it and sets about making it true.  So, if you believe something negative about yourself strongly enough, and long enough, the subconscious will create situations that make that belief come true for you.  The same is true in reverse, of course; when you decide to undo those negative assumptions, or you want to enhance your life in some way, your subconscious is the part of you that helps to make that happen.  You've seen the results of that by those people who seem to always be successful at whatever they do.

Hypnosis is very easy to use, and requires very little from you.  You need these components in order for hypnosis to bring you success:

A lot of people think that their work is done once they walk into the hypnotist's office; then, it is the hypnotist's job to make change happen.  That is not how it happens.

You and the hypnotist must work as a team in order to create change.  The hypnotist leads and guides, and you are responsible for doing your part by committing fully to the process, believing in the changes that you will experience, and following through with suggestions.

Your subconscious mind will be working to see that you reach your goals after you've made the deep and sincere commitment to change.  Remember, your subconscious believes and takes literally whatever you tell it.

Testimonials

"Words can not even express how much I appreciate you taking time to be with my mother before her death.  Just knowing you were there gave me peace of mind."  M.G., San Jose, CA

"It worked!  I'm not smoking, and I tell my friends to take those smelly things outside."  S.J., Centralia, WA

"I'm amazed at how relaxed I felt.  I don't relax easily." J.N., Centralia, WA

"Can you believe it's been a year since I quit smoking?!."  M.W., Chehalis, WA

"I never knew that relaxation could help with pain and anxiety.  I had a rough week and still didn't experience anxiety or pain."  J.D., Centralia, WA

A past client stopped by yesterday.  He had received my "We're Moving" postcard and said he wanted to "check out" the new office.  He looked healthy and heavier.  He told me he'd gained 50 pounds and would be coming back to see me for weight loss.  He was one of my smoking cessation people who actually did quit after one session and a CD reinforcement.  When he first came to see me, he had some serious health problems that had put him on disability.  He's a fairly young man, so this was alarming to him.  He was seriously committed to quitting smoking and improving his health, as evidenced by how well he's done.

"I want you to know you are fantastic.  I finally told myself, "This is ridiculous," and threw my cigarettes away.  I'm very happy, and I owe you a lot. Thank you very much."  B.M., Chehalis, WA

"It has been three and a half months since my last cigarette, thanks to you.  I think you're
great ... what you do is great and I so appreciate you."  KP, Morton, WA

 About Me

As a consulting hypnotist and a comfort therapist, I am passionate about the energetic aspects of hypnosis and therapeutic touch.  Some of the changes I've seen have been truly amazing and awe-inspiring.  For me, there is nothing better than to see the pleasure on the faces of clients who have reached their goals.

I received my hypnosis training from the Threshold University of Body/Mind Science in 1997. Although the school no longer exists, my hypnosis intstructor, Asara Lovejoy, is apparently still doing  what she loves.

My primary therapeutic touch teacher, Betty Green, was a renowned nurse in the Seattle area for many years.  My current mentor, also a nurse, is Janet Goldenbogen-Self.  She lives and works in Port Townsend, WA.

World Hypnotism Day

Our new NGH South Sound chapter celebrated World Hypnotism Day, January 4th, 2008, with a free, open-to-the-public event at the Olympia Center in Olympia.  The event ran from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and we had a steady stream of attendees.

All participating hypnotists gave a presentation, and most of the presentations were well attended.  The presentations included demonstrations of a problem-solving session using an audience participant, several guided imagery sessions, a talk on hypnosis as a profession, a CD presentation explaining hypnosis, and a presentation on using hypnosis with relationships.

I overheard a man saying that he'd never met a more approachable and friendly group of people (talking about the hypnotists in attendance).

We are already looking forward to next year's event, and we hope to see you there!
